Advisory Board

If you are like most small to mid sized businesses, family owned or privately held you can certainly benefit from an Advisory Board.

All too often companies draw from internal staff resources when trying to solve complex business challenges. This can come in the form of a group of family members or senior staff in a company. In both of these cases it is entirely possible that one or more individuals have either drank the corporate Kool Aid, or have some turf to protect. In these instances their primary concern may not be with the company's best interest but their own agendas. They may also fear reprisal for speaking up and pointing out issues that may not be flattering to leadership.

In short what is lacking from home grown or internally grown boards or committees is the fact that they have an agenda that may at some point be in conflict with what is best for the company and they lack an outside perspective, both from the company and the industry.
